Joshua on Two Wheels

Mr. Innkeeper is a lover of bikes, so this is probably one of his proudest parenting moments yet!

We had heard that the fastest way to learn to ride a bike is to take the training wheels and the pedals off, so then the child can get a sense of the balance. Here's Joshua balancing.

Here's Joshua's on one of his first unassisted rides.

And Joshua enjoying some chocolate cake after his first real ride!

I just got a google account so I can leave a comment on this blog! This is so awesome. I love the pictures. Tell Joshua I have been searching for a Spidey shirt for him.

Good job with the two-wheelers. Our poor children have parents who never seem to find the time to assist with this -- Ben (7) still doesn't ride a two-wheeler! Should I even be admitting that? They prefer the scooters, but we clearly best be getting the biking underway...

Way to go Joshua, you are doing great! Clay would love to hit some trails with you. :) It was so fun for us to see your dad. We wish we could have seen you, your mom and Delia too. We miss you all and hope some day to come and see you at your house.

YEA! That is so exciting! I've never heard about taking the pedals off, but it sure makes sense!

It's funny that I read this blog today because Andrew's first day of school was today and I thought to myself, "I wonder if he is the only 1st grader who doesn't know how to ride a bike?" I am with Liz, we are on the parent slow track with teaching Andrew. He will be 7 in November and he too has never had a lesson. Guess we best be getting too it.
