The Coolest Dad on the Planet

Mr. Innkeeper left this morning to attend his cousin's wedding in Salt Lake City. We miss him already. His flight was leaving from Halifax to Chicago early this morning, he was on the same flight (Halifax to Chicago) that my aunt was taking this past Monday. Her flight was canceled two days in a row because of mechanical problems. She finally was able to leave on Tuesday afternoon and take a flight to Montreal and then to Los Angeles (where she spent another night in an airport) before she could get home to Medford. We were grateful to have those extra days with her but we are glad (for her) that she is finally home! So there has been some speculation in our house about Mr. Innkeeper's flight possibly getting canceled today. When Joshua woke up this morning he asked where his Dad was, and then he asked why Dad's plane wasn't broken this morning. And then, after I told him that it was working and was on its way to Chicago, he said "well, my Dad could fix it if it was broken". That's the kind of confidence we all have in him! We hope he hurries home!

Sooooo cute! Joshua is quite the bright kid and obviously mechanical engineering material himself! You are right! Jason is fantastic!

Stay strong this week-end! You are woman, hear you roar! I find that when my husband is out of town, it is a usually a good time to de-clutter, and also to have cereal for dinner!

Nothing can replace a missing daddy, but if it helps just a little Mr. Innkeepers niece and nephew, Sydney and Nathan, thought their uncle Jason was fabulous. Nathan would only touch the squishy sea rays at the aquarium after Uncle Jason tried it. And Sydney would often wander off to find him. He said it made him miss his kids even more, but it filled our kids hearts, who rarely get to see their extended family. Thank you Joshua and Delia for sharing.
